Do I sound illiterate?

If I had to choose just one thing to change about my writing, I would want to feel like the final product of my writing sounds like it came from a college student rather than a slightly annoying second grader who is just learning how to form grammatically correct sentences.

What is an Author?

Many things come to mind with the idea of authorship, but to me being an author means simply putting your pen to paper (figuratively or literally), and using your brain to piece together meaningful sentences, whether the ultimate end result is for art’s sake, academia, or some other mundane purpose.
